Totally Tropical Birthday

Don't ask me where this one came from, have never done anything like this but i'm in love with it. No image but sure where could I have put one! LOL!!

The circle/dot/square pattern was cut out by my Silhouette SD. This poor machine i've had since last Christmas and could never really use it because i'm on a mac but they released new software and I'm in heaven. Vinyl all over the house and pretty much any sentiment/shape that I want for cards I now have. I used a hot pink flocked Doodlebug paper for the dot fillers and just plain cream card for the top layer. Then coredinations, some flowers and ribbon and voila!

Hello Blog World!!!

I'm back in blogger land and boy how i've missed ye all.

Had to take a break, everything was becoming too much and I was feeling constantly under pressure but things are back to normal, family are all healthy and happy and i've just so much that I want to share with everyone that I had to start up again, plus I missed my daily fix of blog stalking. Yes, yes, i'll be back to the mad commenting and updating you with nonsense. :-D

Lots to share but will start off with the biggest news of all, my fantastically, talented, craft bud Robin has started her own range of beautiful digi stamps. There's everything in the shop, literally every occasion is covered and she has new designs in the works every single day. She's uber talented and i'm so very proud of her. You can check out her images here in the shop and have a look here at the blog for some inspiration. Also check out the DT call we're having at the mo here. (enough links for ya yet!)

So for the challenge at My Partner in Crafting Crime we chose a baby theme and good old Robs has said she'll sponsor this fortnight too and is also offering everyone 25% off in the shop, just use this code BB25 at the checkout. I picked 'A Star is born' from the shop and had to force myself not to make it a boy card. LOL!!

I used my Copics on this that Robs got me for my birthday, (yeah, she's the bomb!) Still learning with them, haven't mastered the hair yet. Don't worry still have the promarkers to play with too, don't think I could ever fully end my relationship with them. I paper pieced the star and the sentiment stamp is from the curly verses Stampin' Up set. Flower is a Prima i've been saving, think this card deserves it and finally the flourishes are Marianne dies.

Hello Wednesday! Has been an eventful week to say the least, little man is nearly over the tonsillitis, he's in school today anyway, he wanted to go, I didn't make him. I have contracted yet another head cold and my poor computer screen is getting a wash every few minutes. LOL! Anyway Arlana has produced the goods again and here is this weeks sketch for Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

I have a confession to make about this. LOL! I was colouring away and had it nearly finished when I looked at the pic and realized the bear was probably a polar bear, I had gone for the grissly kind and had to start over. Oh well. The dp is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses, my new addiction. The image is coloured with Promarkers and a smidgen of chalk behind it and glitter below.

My Partner in Crafting Crime Challenge 12 CAS

Sorry dudettes I'm a day late. Have a sick little man at the mo. He has tonsillitis and is not coping well. He's in a bit better form today. This week's challenge at My Partner in Crafting Crime is Clean and Simple. It's quite hard if you think about it too much like I did so try not too. :-D

I used a Laura Ashley paper and another from a DCWV stack. The teapot is actually a post it note thing that Mam had in the shop and brought home about a year ago, forgot I had it and in the recent clean up found them again. I mounted this on some coredinations, added a sentiment from CWC and ribbon from stash. This is also my first card to make it onto the blog with stitching on it. Still a bit wonky but better than the first few attempts, believe me. :-D

Sweet Sketch Wednesday No. 68

Cannot believe September is nearly over, feels like I missed this month entirely. I'm now the owner of two pairs of glasses, getting old I guess. I'm having a love/hate relationship with them at the moment. They've taken away the headaches I was getting daily which is great but I just cannot get used to wearing them at all. I hardly wore sunglasses (living in Ireland there really isn't much call for them). Anyway mini-moan over and back to the reason for the post. It's Sweet Sketch Wednesday today and here is sketch 68 from the talented Arlana to get you inspired.

This week I used Fairy Fae, i'm in love with her.

I used the Basic Grey Capella pad and a teeny bit of Prima paper. The sentiment is a Whiff of Joy sentiment stamp. I coloured Fae with Promarkers and added stickles to her wings and stars. Got the oul distressing tool out and used Bundled Sage around the edges and also on the sentiment stamp.

Loved the sketch and the image so much.

This week I used an image from the new Coco Winter collection

The papers are all from the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses pad and are mounted on Pesto coredinations. The snowflake is a Marianne one that i covered in glossy accents and dipped into diamond dust, added a flattened bead cap for the centre. Velvet ribbon is something that was dug out of the endless ribbon stash box and the snowflake brads are also from another wee stash. The super cute Coco image is coloured with Promarkers and some fluffy stuff was added to his hat and the snow falling around him. The snow beneath him is Doodlebug glitter. Small bit of chalking behind him too. Et voila!

My Partner in Crafting Crime Challenge 11 Recipe Time

So this fortnight at My Partner in Crafting Crime we have a little recipe to get you in the mood and it has a little twist.

The Recipe:

3 Embellishments

2 Designer Papers

1 Non-Traditional Element (i.e. something you would never use on a card)

We had to make it a challenging challenge so there it is, get those thinking caps on and get busy.

For some ideas check out my fellow Partner in Crafting Crime Robin's work here and also are lovely Guest Designer Mary's work here. Very clever ideas there too.

So I used; 3 Flowers, 2 Papers, (1from DCWV and 1 from MME) and the 1 item I would never use on a card is the wire and beading under the top flower. The wire is taken from some wired ribbon and the beads are something I've had in a drawer for far too long. The image is one of my favourite Whiff of Joy images and i've coloured her with Promarkers and chalked the background.

So i'm extremely late posting my card for Sweet Sketch Wednesday, we've had a power cut today and it has messed up my broadband badly, have been using my phone for emails and I'm now dreading next month's bill. Oh well, at least i'm back online now and ready to update you all on this weeks sketch. Arlana has given us another beauty. Check it out.

I got this cutie to play with.

I used promarkers to colour him and added some chalking behind him and around the candle. I tried to get the glow of the candle right on his fur by using the Mustard promarker as my lightest colour instead of Raw Sienna and it sorta worked, his belly is a bit off maybe. The papers are from the Silent Night Papermania pad, (Yep, it's still going strong!) The flowers were punched out from the back paper using the big Nellie Snellen flower punch and embosser. I added a little bit of fluffy stuff to his socks and hat bobble. Check out my fellow DT's work this week, it's fantastic as always. See ya at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday No. 65

Can't believe it's September already, that summer just flew by way too quickly! It's time for another Arlana special. This week Arlana provided our lucky Sweet Sketch Wednesday DT with this sketch to play with.

This week I gave myself a right challenge and picked a snowman! What fun I had!

This is actually my third attempt at this snowman. The first one I went too blue, the second I tried to flock it and obviously had issues with the lines so third time lucky and I think I got it looking like snow. I adore snowmen probably because it never snows here in Ireland so I never get to build one, although last Winter we had a couple of days of snow and I got a three foot snowman made in the front garden. Back to the image, I used the Ice Gray range in the Promarkers to colour, oh so gently. I added some white gel pen to his top hat and bow tie. There's a smidgen of flock underneath him for the ground. I chalked the background to make him stand out some more. The snowflakes behind him are a new embossing folder i've been itching to try out and the papers are from two old books from last year that had no cover so I can't inform, sorry! :-D

Now I had a little construction project over the weekend and built myself a homemade lightbox. I was not happy with the pictures I was getting, I'm now semi-happy, need a few more lights and i'm sorted. I followed these instructions but changed the cardboard box to mount board as I had it here and the muslim to an old white pillow case, again cos it was here. This also folds flat so it's easy to hide away.

This is a picture of what it ended up looking like with the card above inside. The lightbulb has to be a daylight bulb or it will look yellow. Trust me on this, i've tried them all! :-D

Vintage Heaven

This fortnight at My Partner in Crafting Crime it's Vintage time. We also have our first Guest Designer Angie Hunt taking part in our challenge and in our Interrogation Room.

I've been wanting to create a sign for my room for ages now and this was the perfect time to get it done. I used the Vintage Market Alphabet from Tim Holtz as well as the elegant flourish die too. The paper is also from his book and i've distressed it with Old Paper. The edging, swirl and wording have all been coated with Picket Fence crackle paint. The metal bits are also from Mr. Holtz's Ideeologogy colletion. Yes I'm an addict!

For my card I used the Basic Grey pad Capella. I paper pieced her coat and hat and added a few pearls for her buttons. She's coloured in with Promarkers and then the edges are chalked. I got to try out my new Sizzix swirls and I have to say i'm in love. The pearly lace is something Mam's had in the shop for years that i've taken proud ownership of.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday No. 64

Well hello darlings! Feeling much better this week thankfully. Some retail therapy helped out a lot with the recovery ;-) I've a few things to get through this week so bear with me it could be a long one. First off the most important thing about today, it's Sweet Sketch Wednesday. YAY!!! The great Arlana has provided us with this fantastic sketch.

I got to create two cards this week using two uber cute images.

The first one is a cutie. I wanted to create a baby card that wasn't for a boy or a girl and could be used for either but I think it ended up looking decidedly male. Oh well, live and learn right?

Papers used here are the trusty Victoria & Albert collection. Finally got to use my new MS Scroll lace punch, gotta love ebay! Added an embossed gold, flattened, bead-cap as my embellie, gonna finish my secret card tonight and get it up here, the aforementioned bead-cap thing will make sense then. LOL!!!

The second card has an adorable little mouse. I love her! Coloured her in with Promarkers and added some chalk on her ears. Another MS punch used here, thanks Mam!!! The flowers are from a My Minds Eye pad and the coredinations i've had for ages and never used but really like it now so it may be featuring quite heavily in the near future. ;-)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday No. 63

Ola! What a week I'm having and we're only half way through. Internet went down again, rang Eircom and they said the broadband box it too old to work anymore, so spent the morning on the phone with them and they said they'd send out a new one but it would take 2-3 days to get here. I hung up and it started working again. Funny.

Then I set up the laptop as I'm a bit ill today and dropped it, the charger is all wonky on it now... To top things off have a horrible dose of food poisoning, hopefully nearing the end of it now though. Had an interrupted night and a delivery guy at the door told me I looked rough. Nice of him I know, but it's shockingly true. I couldn't even open the package because that would have involved bending over to carry it and I can't do that yet without feeling the urge to throw up some more.

Anyway enough gruesome talk and onto this weeks fantastic Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge. Arlana has given us another beauty to work with.

This week I went Christmassy again and used Rocky Robin.

Had to use this image as it reminded me of my card buddy Robin!

Coloured him with promarkers and added some flocking on his hat and the icing on the pudding. Also added some glitter for the snow underfoot. Used the Silent Night papers again, in love with these at the moment, may have to get another pad ;-) My fantastic team mates have come up with some stunners this week too. This week I got to use my friend Robin's copics on this image. Have to say i'm in love and my credit card might be feeling some pain at some stage this week. I used the Copics on the bear and promarkers for everything else. I had this little cutie playing on grass which I chalked in but I actually think he's supposed to be at sea. Oh well. I used a star gromlet as my element this week and added a glitter brad to the centre to match the other three glitter brads at the top.

Busy week again and the long weekend has thrown me all together, keep thinking it's Tuesday but it's actually Wednesday so that means it's Sweet Sketch Wednesday time! This week Arlana gave us this stunning little creation to work with.

I got to use these two cuties kissing and yes it's Christmas card your eyes are not deceiving you! :-D

I used the new Silent Night papers from Papermania and coloured it in with Promarkers. The flowers were from the trusty stash and the pearl brads were actually white and I just coloured the tops with the Moss green promarker to match the image. This also works on plain pearls and diamante's and white or ivory ribbon so you'll always have an embellishment to match now. Woohoo!!

I added glitter on Mr. Mouse's hat and on Mrs. Mouse I used some flocking. I added some flocking to the ground too to resemble snow. There's a teeny bit of glitter pen to outline the 'snow'. I also used chalks on their ears and cheeks. It just sits better on the promarkers than trying to put red on grey. Well for me it does anyway.

The Design Team this week have totally outdone themselves, the cards are all fantastic as always! There's a few more Christmassy ones there too so I'm not barking mad after all! Check it out at Sweet Sketch Wednesday and join us for some sketchy fun!

Well hello Wednesday! Time flies when you're having fun eh? Turns out our summer is over here in the "Sunny" South East of Ireland. It's either just rain or excessive heat with the chance of rain at any minute. The sun just cannot seem to get through the clouds anymore :-( Anyway here's something to cheer me up, Sweet Sketch Wednesday's Arlana's new sketch! I had great fun with this one!

Of course with a fantastic hat and coat like that I just had to vintage her up. Promarkers were used to colour madam and her pooch and then the papers were all from the Victoria & Albert collection. The ribbon is actually champagne in colour, well that's what it says on the label but I think it suits. There is some Antique Linen distressing around the image too, just subtle enough that hopefully now i've told you, you'll see it! :-D Added some pearls to the 'champagne' ribbon because every Lady must have her pearls!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday No. 59

It's Sweet Sketch Wednesday time folks and it's Digi Stamp Boutique week too! Woohoo!!! I'm currently trying to outdo Sneezy from Snow White, I've racked up 22 sneezes so far this morning and i've only been up for two hours. Gonna be a fun day. On the bright side, the sun has finally remembered it's supposed to be summer here in Ireland and has made an appearance for the first time in weeks!! Hope he stays around a bit longer this time. Here's the sketch our lovely Arlana created this week.

Now for the prize, the continously generous Sally-Ann from DigiStamp Boutique is going to give the lucky winner TEN free digis. How sweet is that! This week I used Tallulah from DigiStamp Boutique and I love her!!

She's coloured with Promarkers, tried a different combo on the skin this week. Instead of Dusky Pink, Blush and Ivory, I went for Coral, Pastel Pink and Dusky Pink. Think they're a bout more visible in the photo. I was going to go all Pink on her dress but I'm having a blue phase at the mo so she got hit with that. I used some blue stickles on her wings, wand, crown and dress. The papers are from the Papermania pad Henbury Lane and Pink Petticoat. I tried the "Out of the Box" technique that Jenny from My Inky Hands gave a tutorial on and I have to say Jen, I love it!!!

Can't quite believe another fortnight has passed since our last challenge! Thanks to all who entered! This week I used an awesome Kraftin' Kimmie stamp called Nerissa. Just look at that hair! Wish my hair was as nice as that! I'm currently addicted to these curly girls, I think my credit card is feeling the pain already! LOL!!! I coloured her in with the trusty Promarkers and glitterized her wing fin things, also added some glossy accents to the coral shell in her hands. Robin has gone and got herself Copics and i'm mighty jealous, her hair on her mermaid just rocks!!! Check it out here!

The background paper is from the hippy chic DCWV stack and the embossed bubbles is a Quickutz folder. The seaweedy thingys are leaf punches just arranged to look seaweedy and finally the oval was distressed with Shabby Shutters, Pine Needles, Crushed Olive and a smidgen of Chipped Sapphire.

Wow 58! Can you believe that! I've been on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday team for 12 weeks, a whole 3 months! How time flies when you're having fun. This weeks sketch is another beauty from our fabulous Arlana. It involves ovals! Yay!!

This is the little cutie I got to play with this week.

I paper pieced her dress, shoes, heart hair clip and the butterfly. I forget how much fun that is and glad I did it here. She reminds me of my sister, Claire. She always had a little bob. The papers used are from a freebie My Minds Eye pad I got on some magazine months ago. The sentiment is CWC and the flower is an accordian one I made from a tutorial I found on the Whiff of Joy Tutorials blog. Had great fun making this and it nearly got ruined with a coffee spillage on Saturday but it was saved from destruction by my very quick thinking Mam. Woohoo!

So didn't quite get the card finished to post today but I did make some of these "Prima"esque flowers.

So then lovely bloggy people, I have some news. I've got three hours of my life back every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday just for me! Yay!!! The little man is in summer camp for the first time and although it took a while to get him in he's settling down now. So i've decided it's craft time for those three hours and when he comes home we can clean and do the rest of the work together. To start I want to tell you about our new challenge at My Partner in Crafting Crime. It's an easy one this week, the theme is summer, so any summer project you have going on enter it in.

I used this Penny Black stamp and coloured Puss in with Promarkers.

Hi everyone!

Had a weird week this week dotted with technology problems. Phone went bust first but that was fixed easily enough. My little man dropped my camera over the weekend and even though there was no visible damage it will not turn on. It has been sent off to be repaired but the chances are slim so got myself a new one! ;-) Printer went on the blink on Monday but appears to be back now it does have a weird lline down one side now though. Maybe time for that laser printer i've been pining for. LOL!! Anyway it's Wednesday so it's Sweet Sketch Wednesday time. Our fab Arlana has come up with this beauty of a sketch.

I used the "Boy & Ball" image for my card this week

He reminds me of the 'camera breaker' so much it's unreal. My little dude looks cool in dungarees too and just loves playing football. The papers are from the Papermania Persimmon collection. The image is coloured with the Promarkers. I cut the image out this week and mounted cos I wanted the ball to be raised. Gonna keep this one for me. :-D

I have to say it was very hard to pick an image to use this week, could easily have picked 11!!!

I got the very cute Girrblock Love image and here's what I did with them.

I used the wonderful promarkers to colour in the majority of the image and then the shrubbery and sky was done with chalks. I also chalked around the image to blend it in better.

Could not believe my luck when I found that I had Giraffe print paper in one of the DCWV stacks so that's what's behind them and the other DP is from the Papermania Hampstead collection. Still very much in love with this.

The flowery orange ribbon is actually self adhesive, you wouldn't believe how ecstatic I was when I found this!

The three glass beads are another find at Mam's shop, they're actually a florist sundry item and you can get a nice size bucket of them for a ridiculously low price!

The flowers are from the stash and have yellow brad centres. Hope you like it! :-D

Hiya lovely people! I'm in a really super mood this week! Have gotten most of the dreaded housework out of the way including 8 hours (yes 8!) of ironing on Monday and my first ever veggie patch is thriving! The little dude is quite happy with himself too, he planted the peas that are now 20" high!!

For my card this week Shirley 2 Girls gave me the brilliant 'Mother Knows Best' digital stamp. I'm in love with it! I've never found a stamp for an expecting Mom before and I just love this one. It was great fun to colour too.

I used the Promarkers of course and tried out some colours I tend to avoid. The gingham paper was one I created myself in Gimp, if you would like it just send me a mail and i'll forward them on. The other two papers are from the Papermania Henbury Lane range. The flower is from my trusty flower jar stash and the satin ribbon is a self adhesive turquoise i've had for a full year and only opened this week! LOL! :-D

My Partner in Crafting Crime Challenge 4

Show Papa some love...

Our challenge this week at My Partner in Crafting Crime is to create something with a male theme. Father's Day is a coming so dust off all those male stamps and male papers that we all try to avoid for the rest of the year and get making. :-D

I usually hate male cards cos i'm always stuck for that embellishment bit that I want to add, can't stick flowers on it and for an older man brightly coloured buttons and stars don't really work. So dug through numerous drawers and remembered I had that brad making kit thing from Papermania so used two of them this time. The newspaper type paper is from Pink Petticoat and the other is from the V&A collection. The stamp was a find in TK Maxx of all places. It's Hero Arts believe it or not and there are three of them, so that's me sorted for male cards for a while! :-D I distressed the edges of the paper and cardstock on the image and then also distressed with, Old Paper, Antique Linen and Walnut Stain. The stamp itself is just stamped with Staz On Timber Brown. I coloured his face, cane, hand and gloves with Promarkers but that was it. Didn't think it needed anymore.

Only one week to go until the madness starts!! I cannot wait!! I'm talking about our Anniversary Blog Hop at Sweet Sketch Wednesday from June 9th to 15th, there's gonna be some super duper prizes too.

Back to this week's sketch. Another fab design by Arlana.

Passion for Promarkers Card

Couldn't let the week go by without entering into the Passion for Promarkers Anniversary challenge. I've been rather busy the last week so even though I started this a week ago i've only managed to finish it tonight in the wee hours of the morning. Happy Anniversary to all the PFP crew.

Papers were Hampstead, K&Co and Henbury Lane.
Stamp is a WOJ and coloured with pretty much all of the browns in the Promarker range.
Big flower was a multiple of acrylic flowers heat gunned to make them all crinkly. Check out Deanne's blog, my fellow SSW DT member. It's where I got my inspiration. Link to the right.
Buttons were stash orientated.

RAK Card for Jayme

While I was looking at all the fab entries last week for Sweet Sketch Wednesday, I came across Ann's blog and she had a beautiful card with a frog on it. Her post explained the reason for the frog and this is why, she had come across Lisa's blog and this is lisa's story:

"I am having a special event for my sister Jayme. She is in her early 50's and has terminal lung cancer. To make it worse, her sweet dachshund Molly passed away a couple weeks ago. Today we learned her cancer has spread to several other areas and her time is running out. I am asking for all my card making friends to send her a fun card...not really get well cards obviously, but something pretty or funny that will make her smile. She is a frog collector so frog cards would be awesome!"

I used the Summer Papermania Capsule Collection papers for this. Coloured the Honey Bear with my promarkers as well as the little bee stamps. There are some stickles on their wings but it didn't photograph too well. I used some chalks behind the bear to make him look like he was sitting on the grass. Great fun sketch this week Arlana. Thanks a million. My little man really liked this one because he has a little teddy bear very similar in a green t-shirt, guess where I got my inspiration from. LOL!!

New challenge today at My Partner in Crafting Crime and it's an easy one for ya after last week's tough colour challenge. All you've to do is create something with Happy Birthday as a theme for it.

As you've probably noticed i'm a bit addicted to Anya at the mo so i've used her again in this card. Blue is not a colour I would normally pick for a girly card but I think it works ok. The swirl flourish thingy is a Marianne die as is the scalloped circle, yes, also addicted to these! :-) Got a great tip on Bah Humbug on how to get these out. Check it out here and thanks girls!

It's that time again folks, Wednesday is here and with it comes another fab sketch from Arlana at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

The stamp is one I won at the last blog hop at Sweet Sketch Wednesday obviously this was pre-DT position and I adore her. She's called Shelly Turtle and cake and you can get her here. I've used the new Papermania Hampstead papers for this, they're quite masculine but I thought Shelly could pull it off with her little bow! She's coloured in with the oul promarkers of course and i've started using that evil blender now, can you tell?? The organza ribbon was from my Ribbon horse stash, wishing now that I would've put something behind it to stand out some more, it really is shimmery and a lovely orange. Oh well, lesson learned.

More Anya fun

This is the second creation of the day, loving the way her hair turned out. All those you tube videos are finally paying off. Have finally learned not to be so heavy handed with the Promarkers and how to use the blender. Yes Robin, I said blender. LOL!! I've officially been converted. :-p

I came across the Raise the Bar blog and really liked their colour combo of Yellow Gray and White. It's not something I would normally pick myself so thought it would make a great challenge to try complete. Then I found a sketch over on Coops blog that I really liked so had a go at that too, the sketch is from the Allsorts Challenge Blog go check it out, i'm gonna be entering every week now. LOL!! And can you believe this it fits into one more challenge, over at A Spoonful of Sugar they've set the challenge this week to use three designer papers and three buttons, so my papers are two from the Summer Papermania Capsule collection and the grey one is from the Jesse Edwards papermania range.

Ooh I have been having fun all morning. We've taken a break from Fort construction as we ran out of timber, delivery just arrived though so back to it soon enough i'd imagine. (Will post pic of end result). Anyway after construction ended last night I came in and got all my Anya's out and stamped a full page of them. I managed to colour hair and skin on 6 and this morning I went challenge hunting. So this card and the next one are the end results of what i'd consider to be a rather productive evening/morning.

For this summery creation I used the two of the new Papermania Henbury Lane papers and i think the striped one is from Pink Petticoat but would have to check that out. I coloured Anya in with the wonderful promarkers. I used the MS Doily punch for the middle border and for the big circle I used my Xcut pink circle thingy. Buttons were dug out from stash and some East of India twine was threaded through two.

With a name like that I just had to vintage it up.

He reminds me of a singer some people might know, called Gilbert O' Sullivan, way back when he was younger, he had a hat just like that. He is my Mam's all time idol, so guess who's getting this card??

(It's only because he is her idol that I know all this by the way. LOL!!)

The papers are all from the new Victoria & Albert range, I just love them. Wee Gilbert is coloured in with the trusty Promarkers and on the fence I added some crackle accents to make it look like a white picket fence. It sorta worked right??

I distressed nearly everything with some Antique Linen to really get the vintage look. The flower is a new Marianne die that is just awesome, it cuts a slit at the top of the second flower so you can thread the ribbon through to match any card at all. Genius. The button brad is from a Laura Ashley collection I think. The heart ribbon behind is East of India, I got this at the weekend with Mam when we went trim shopping. Yes, it is fair to say we are obsessed!

It's new sketch time over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Arlana has come up with an awesome sketch this week, I hope you can play along.

I really liked colouring her. I used the beloved ProMarkers and

on the dots I added some glossy accents to make them shine.

There are some frosted lace distress stickles on her wings too to make them sparkle.

The cardstock is Core'dinations Scarlet and Midnight Black.

The papers are a mix of free downloads, Laura Ashley and Papermania Capsule.

Hope you like the Ladybugs, these were one of the first things I bought way back when I placed my first ever order for card stuff. I thought i'd used them straight away and of course never did but I knew i'd need them someday and voila, here they are!

Time for another fabulous sketch challenge from

Sweet Sketch Wednesday with another amazing prize.

This is the sketch to follow. I had a lot of fun with this one you can see my card below.

So here is my card.

The image I used is called "A rose from Rosie" and isn't she just cute.

Was stuck between her and Chillin' Randy but I did a boy card last week so wanted to shake it up a bit.

The papers i've used are from the latest Laura Ashley collection. They are all glittery and embossed, very nice. I added some glitter to Rosie's frills to compliment this. I cut out a nestie fancy label and stamped 'Lots of Love' onto it with Staz On and added two little purple gems to glitz it up some more.

Summer Flowers

Ok this is extremely late for one of my favourite challenges but in my defense I had no internet all weekend and was playing catch up for most of today. Better late than never though right??

Over at Passion for Promarkers (the one that i'm late for) the theme was "In the Garden" so I got out this fabulous Tilda stamp and then the fence. The width between the two posts on the orginal fence stamp wasn't quite big enough to fit poor Tilda so I stamped them, coloured them, stickled them, then cut them out and mounted them over and around her. Good old Tilda has a few stickles on her too. I used Antique Linen to distress the back of the entire image. Mounted this onto some Burgundy core'dinations and then onto some K&Co paper.

The flowers were from my shopping spree on Saturday down at the Crafty Angels crop. Their theme this week is summer and I think Tilda fits quite nicely into that category.

I used 'Lucas and Freddo' on my card because I have a little boy who I'm sure will be only too happy to go fishing with frogs when he's old enough. Ha ha!

Digi Stamp is coloured with Promarkers.
Papers are Bo Bunny and the gingham I created myself.
I cut out the scalloped edge with my Fiskars punch from some Orange Coredinations
and used some polka dot ribbon to go on top.
The sentiment is attached with eyelets and the buttons are from my stash.

What a challenge that was!

I really do love a good challenge and boy did I get one today. Over at the Passion for Promarkers blog they had a new challenge to create a background with your promarkers. I got all giddy about it and wanted to combine it with the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday because I thought I could easily create different backgrounds for each circle. Lets just say it wasn't that easy at all.

I tried a water colouring technique to get a background wash thingy outta the promarkers but all that did was permanently colour one of my blocks. I then tried the baby wipe technique that I've seen used with TH distress re-inkers, that kinda worked but got messy quickly. So what finally worked are the three pics above.

For the checkerboard-esque look I drew lines down a piece of burgundy coredinations at 1/4" intervals horizontally and vertically and then coloured in alternative squares using Burnt Sienna. This took a good hour to do and I wished i'd spaced them further apart but the overall effect is subtle and I like it so hey.

For one of the circles I got two clear stamps, one heart and one swirl, I coloured the heart with Maroon and the swirl with Moss Green and stamped all over a piece of card and the cut out a circle from the best bit in the middle. The other circle was just four different colours striped across and again cut out with the nesties. For the big scalloped circle, I embossed it with the polka dot cuttlebug folder and then coloured each dot with Umber.

My darling little image that Mam got me is a Sugar Nellie stamp and I coloured her using all the colours I've used to create my backgrounds, put a bit of glitter on the flowers in her hat and sat her on the ribbon.

And voila! Am off to bed to dream about promarker backgrounds now! :-D

Purple & Red Goodness

Had great fun making this card. Tried out a new card fold I found on someone's blog ages ago and tried to combine it with the sketch for Sweet Sketch Wednesday's challenge this week. Think I did it. I used organza ribbon for the back panel instead of paper though so maybe not. Hmm....

So the recipe for this creation:

The stamp is a Greeting Farm one and coloured in with my beloved Promarkers, mounted her onto a quickutz nestie which I chalked the edges on and stuck some card candy on each point.

Used some doodlebug white paper ribbon and put some red gingham ribbon over that.

This card is for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge no. 43 really like their blog, their design team always manage to come up with something so different. I coloured Kaylee in with ProMarkers. Have been watching oodles of tutorials on hair and skin and have been stalking Coops' blog because I believe she is a pro! :-D

The papers were a mixture of Clare Curd's signature range and also DCWV glitter stack. I used some ribbon and card candy from my stash and the little handbag charm is from Bombay Duck and is actually for a charm bracelet so it can be taken off and used as a gift too.

Howdy Thirty

My sister asked me to make a card for her friend's 30th. This is the end result. He's having a big barn party with a cowboy theme hence the card. Twas a bit of a challenge I have to admit but Robin helped me out when I got stuck.

Found some red glittered numbers in my ever increasing stash and toned them down a bit by Glimmer Misting them and then stamping them with Gold Ink it Up. Put this onto a distressed nestie which I looped rope through to carry the cowboy theme through. The rope was also sprayed with the coffee Glimmer Mist. The sentiment is a Just Rite one, (still not sure if I like these yet) and the papers were the Boys Stack from DCWV.

"Ribbon" Horse and "Ribbon" Pegs

After hours of cleaning presses and drawers and desks and being bloomin' sick of seeing rolls of ribbon unravelled everywhere I came up with this idea. It's an old clothes horse that we were actually going to throw away. By chance one particular size roll fits perfectly between the two dowels but the rest needed a little persuading. I had one other "shelf" left and stuck a bit of wired-twine under that to keep them from falling through, the rest are all hanging from pieces of twine attached to the little bits at the end. Well chuffed with how it turned out. For the ribbons I have that came without rolls I saw the Ribbon Peg idea over on the Pink Petticoat blog and have used that.

Got the stamp on Saturday at the Crafty Angels gig, great day, hard on the oul bank account but sure it's only once a month. Coloured her in with the Pro Markers. Dragon Fever

Ok, last post of the day, (possibly month), I promise. Got this lovely fellow in the Digi Stamp Boutique today and just had to use him. No challenges this time just had a few hours to spare and got stuck in. I used some Bo Bunny papers and then some card from the DCWV glitter stack. Got the nesties out again and this time chalked the embossing mainly because I had no ink that colour, lol! Hope you like them :-)

Easter Egg Hugs

Have officially caught the challenge bug.

This particular one had a blog hop with it too which was great fun, got lots of inspiration from the DT at Sweet Sketch Wednesday The theme was to create an Easter/Spring card to match the sketch, it was my first sketch to follow and my first Easter card. Bought my first few stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique too, one of which was used above, coloured with Promarkers. Lots of firsts this week. LOL!! :-)

So am entering the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Bunny Hop Challenge with it.

Pink and Green Shopping Spree

So this is my first ever Sugar Nellie stamp to use. Was in Crafty Angels on Monday and couldn't resist her. The papers I used are from K&Co. I paper pierced her coat and some of the shopping bags. I coloured the rest of her in with my new promarkers. I mounted her onto an oval nestie and then a fancy square nestie which have been distressed and voila.

There is a tiny bit of shimmery organza pink ribbon on the sentiments label but it's very hard to see.

I'm entering my first few challenges with her cos I spent well over two hours on it and feel she deserves it! Ha ha! So i'm sticking her in the following:

Flower Fairy

Created this little fairy for a friend of my Mam's.

She is decoupaged even though it's impossible to see that with that photo. Mounted her onto a scalloped circle which little mister dutifully rolled through for me.

The backing paper is from a Laura Ashley pack. I thought it was a bit busy so I added some vellum to calm it down a bit, hope that worked. The vellum is held on by purple eyelets and is from a Forever Friends pack. Used some card candy to finish.

Why so Blue Sarah Kay

Created this on Thursday with help from the little man. He likes to do the cuttlebug bit. I used one of the Sarah Kay decoupage images I got from Marina's shop and mounted her onto some cream coredinations, distressed it with some Antique linen. The blue paper was free with a magazine. Used two little card candy's at either side and two little buttons at the top. The flower was my attempt at a lollipop flower. Crumpled this and distressed too. I used my nesties to get three different sized circles (rolled by Ryan). Added a little bow and a sentiment. Thanks Shirl for all the inspiration and tips from our wonderful class.

Don't want to part with this one.
